California Trails Center donationThe DAR is a volunteer women's service organization that honors and preserves the legacy of our Patriot ancestors. More than 200 years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As members of the DAR, we continue this legacy by actively promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

Today's DAR has 165,000 members in nearly 3,000 chapters worldwide, including chapters in 12 foreign countries. Since its founding in 1890, DAR has admitted more than 800,000 members.

Organized on October 4, 2003, Fort Halleck Chapter is proud to be growing in membership and contributing to Elko and Elko County, Nevada, in the areas of patriotism, historic preservation and education. Our monthly meetings feature educational programs.

Most recently, chapter members raised and donated $2,500 to the California Trail Interpretive Center (see photo at right).
